Working iPod Halloween Costume

Jrod1080 writes "I decided to be an iPod for Halloween this year. I didn't just want to be walking around in a box, so I made it a fully functional costume. I finally found a good use for a tablet PC, and used that for the display. A rewired USB mouse served as the 'Forward,' 'Reverse,' 'Play/Pause' buttons, and a bit of Java code played and displayed the MP3s. Some battery powered speakers provided the sound. It all worked out well, and I even won the costume contest!"

Yeah, you think for someone who dressed up as a fucking iPod for Halloween he would be geeky enough to have a decent server.

Don't submit a Slashdot story that points to your home run web server. It just makes you look like an idiot when your site is down before the comments start. At least we now know you're a tool.

First thing I need to point out to make this clear is that this guy apparently actually owns a Tablet PC and seems to write programs in Java. So, I would say the chances that he's a ladies man is extremely minimal.

What I find most impressive is that he managed to get pictures of himself taken with a girl that I assume looks like Paris Hilton (I don't bother watching TV or searching the net for pictures of her to compare to). He also got a picture taken with a fairly decent looking St. Pauli Girl.

My theory is that these girls are possibly hired help for the evening for a stripper/impersonater company, or they somehow fall into a category of girls that like to surround themselves with guys that are smart, thinking they can live off the riches of these geeks if another tech boom occurs. Both theories have their own merrits, you decide.

BTW, whoever actually let this story on slashdot is even less likely to get laid than the guy in the picture
