Linux With A National Spanish Newspaper
Aloriel writes "This weekend the Spanish newspaper El Mundo is distributing a CD with the Linux distribution Guadalinex, the official distribution of Andalusia. There are other official distributions likeLinex, MAX, LLIUREX that in a few will replace nearly all Microsfot software and create new projects in order to use only Free Software in schools, hospitals and administration."
Is that Spanish?
This is a fantastic idea. Better still if somebody gets it done in a country that doesn't have the broadband penetration that Spain does.

Mozilla should should do the same with FireFox. I mean, what can it cost to print CD's now a days?
Editors, please...
As soon as this article pops up, two spelling/grammar errors. First there's "microsfot" in the article and then "should should" in one of the comments. On the other hand -- way to go on releasing Linux with a newspaper. That's just cool...

I wish some of the "security" campaigns being run by the occasional government or tv station would take notice. For your average home user (the one that prints letters, writes e-mail, surfs the web, listens to music, but doesn't necessarily have to have the latest game) there's no excuse to still be running some slow, defective product from Redmond.
