EU Intent on Hosting International Fusion Reactor

Raunch writes "The BBC says that EU is determined to be one of the sites that host the multi-billion-dollar International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor Even if they have to do so less-than-internationally: 'If there is no agreement at six we are determined to do it with fewer.' Not only that, but 'The EU wants an agreement on the project before the end of the year'"

If I were a fusion scientist going to work on ITER, I'd much prefer to live in beautiful France than in the sparsely populated bit of North Japan where ITER would be built.

Well, if you were an American scientist, you might rather go to Japan, where the natives are friendly, as opposed to France, who has an attitude toward Americans.

And that has nothing to do with Iraq. France has always disliked Americans. At least that is the impression that I get. I admit that I have not been there, never having had enough money. But I HAVE seen European Vacaion. What a great movie!

That is so weird. What reason would anyone in the world have to have an "attitude" against America? I mean, USA has been supporting both terrorists and tyrants while claiming to do the exact opposite. Add to that all the lies regarding the latest misdirected aggressions. Did you honestly think that being the bully would make you popular? Maybe such people are popular in high school - but some of us have moved up.

Regarding your sig I would like to point out that yuo're wrong. I'm a liberal and I certainly don't want to kill anyone at all. So what are you talking about? Liberals kill children? What's next - atheists eat babies?
