Gran Turismo 4 To Be Delayed Again

still_sick writes "Although it was reported last week that Gran Turismo 4 had Gone Gold, the long awaited title will again be delayed. "Natural challenges with finalizing all the key features and localization issues across worldwide territories have led to the difficult choice of pushing back the release date in order to ensure that Gran Turismo 4 lives up to the exacting standards of the 36 million-plus fans worldwide that have purchased previous versions""

Yeah. Like the fact that the online multiplayer functionality wasn't working. My prediction: Japan gets GT4: Offline edition, and an online addition in March. The US simply gets GT4: online edition in march, because they know nobody will buy GT4 twice.

The Japanese ship date is DEC 28th and the US ship date is between JAN and MAR? I would imagine the major features have been completed this late in the development cycle. I guess I'd rather have a non-buggy game than a game with bugs since GT4 will consume most of my free time.

I'll be glad when NFSU2 gets a physics model as complicated as Gran Turismo's, and as much car-setting ability as sophisticated, so that the level of parts customization actually has some meaningful and maybe even vaguely accurate effect. Anyone who can afford a bubble alignment gauge and about $2500 in suspension components (a lot more people than you may think, especially if you buy the stuff over a few years) can tune their suspension to the same degree as in Gran Turismo games; front and rear camber, caster, toe, suspension height, and damping level. Actually, they can adjust all of that stuff on a per-wheel basis, though you wouldn't really want to unless maybe you were circle track racing. I played the NFSU2 demo and the physics are still atrocious. I installed and played NFS, which I bought at wal-mart a long time back, while I was waiting for the demo.

It sure would be nice, also, if the physics were even close to what the car would actually handle like.
