Buggy Voting Machines

dkleinsc writes "The NYTimes is running an article arguing in layman's terms that voting machines are inherently buggier (Sperm sample required. Sorry ladies) than most software systems because they are not tested properly. A fun quote: "Extensive discussions are under way at sites like VerifiedVoting.org, CalVoter.org, and the "news for nerds" forum Slashdot.org about inexpensive, practical ways to make automated voting as reliable as, say, buying books online. Their recommendations make sense."" We makese sense? Wah?

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Please show your support for Ceren in this poll of Geek Babes!

Is it any wonder people think Linux users are a bunch of flaming homosexuals when its fronted by obviously gay losers like these?! BSD has a mascot who leaves us in no doubt that this is the OS for real men! If Linux had more hot chicks and gorgeous babes then maybe it would be able to compete with BSD! Hell this girl should be a model!

Linux is a joke as long as it continues to lack sexy girls like her! I mean just look at this girl! Doesn't she excite you? I know this little hottie puts me in need of a cold shower! This guy looks like he is about to cream his pants standing next to such a fox. As you can see, no man can resist this sexy little minx. Don't you wish the guy in this pic was you? Are you telling me you wouldn't like to get your hands on this ass?! Wouldn't this just make your Christmas?! Yes doctor, this uber babe definitely gets my pulse racing! Oh how I envy the lucky girl in this shot! Linux has nothing that can possibly compete. Come on, you must admit she is better than an overweight penguin or a gay looking goat! Wouldn't this be more liklely to influence your choice of OS?

With sexy chicks like the lovely Ceren you could have people queuing up to buy open source products. Could you really refuse to buy a copy of BSD if she told you to? Personally I know I would give my right arm to get this close to such a divine beauty!

Don't be a fag! Join the campaign for more cute open source babes today!

Sperm samples required? I wish, that would be a way to get rid of womyn's rights. Here's for an amendment that removes women's rights to 1) vote, 2) murder their unborn children, 3) divorce. Add on 4) Allows men to have as many wives as they want like the Bible says.

    Death to feminism.
    Begone with womyn's rights.

Because it's irrelevent. Bush sent our troops into a war based on lies, but of course could not be bothered to go to war himself. It is no coincidence that 'ALL' GWB records are missing from his Nat'l Guard duty. (Do you realize how hard it would be to loose ALL your military records, when they generate tons of paperwork and everything is recorded in triplicate and stored in different locations?)

Kerry vounteered for active duty and recieved kudos from the gov't for it. His records are open for examination. No one really cares when he was discharged. The facts are clear. Bush is a lying hyprocrite who doesn't mind sending our sons, daughters, fathers and mothers to their possible deaths, when he pulled every string in the book to avoid dangerous service. At least Kerry understands what it means to send people to war.

No matter what little tid bits you can dig up about Kerry, nothing compares to Bush's lies, deciet and the deaths of thousands of people, both Iraqi and American. So grab at your little excuses. They mean nothing.

You sir, are a fucking idiot. And I mean that in the best possible way. Right now, the biggest obstacle to democracy in this election is the combined work of both the Republican "lose the tinfoil hats" Party, and the Democratic "it doesn't matter" Party.

My, my, aren't we the bitter troll today. Quit trying to hide your hate behind some altruistic concern about local elections. You couldn't give a flying fecal discharge about the results in Volusia county. Without a google search, you wouldn't even know what was on the ballot.

This has to be the tenth voting machine article on the front page in the past month. How many more "e-voting" articles are we going to get before we get back to endless SCO and "M$" articles? We've got a quota to meet, people.

I have no problem with Bush winning fair and square --- if the majority of Americans want a fundamentalist idiot for president, so be it. But with buggy, unreliable, completely unverifiable voting machines, there is absolutely no way to tell. "Voting" on Nov 2 was a Third World joke.

The United States is going down the flusher; economically, militarily, socially, politically. You name it, Bush is deliberately trashing his country, and he's only getting started. It takes work to do so much damage so quickly.

--You voted for somebody you didn't like simply in order to vote against Bush, so you obviously recognize on some level what kind of specimen Bush is. If that is so, then what on earth makes you think he is honest and well-meaning enough to not to attempt to corrupt an election?

As 'sick and tired' as you may feel, to pretend that the current course of the U.S. is, -or ever was- in the hands of voters is a product of naivete. --But if that is too alarming thought for a fragile sense of reality, then sure, go back to the rationalist's pretend world where Television News always tells the truth, Terrorists are not encouraged by those with stock in the arms industry, (like the Bushes), those Anthrax spores didn't originate from a U.S. military lab, Flu shots are good for you, and Wellstone's plane went down accidentally. And where Bush would never, never cheat to win an election.

Stupid people are the reason the world is going to hell. Thank you for your contribution.
