WaZiX writes "After yesterday's HD-DVD strike, the Blu-Ray Disc format received support from Disney (and its Buena Vista Home Entertainment unit) as reported by ZDNET. As predicted, the format war has only just begun."

    Sad news ... Dimebag Darrel, dead at 38

    I just heard some sad news on teh radio - Legendary Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrel was shot dead in a Columbus, OH night club yesterday evening. There were lots more details, go find them yourself. I'm sure everyone in the heavy metal community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to the heavy metal scene. Truly an American icon.

    I just heard some sad news on talk radio. Heavy metal guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell was found dead in a Columbus nightclub last night after being shot by an insane gunman. There weren't any more details. I'm sure he will be missed by the Slashdot community - even if you didn't listen to Pantera, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.

      He'll be missed by me, I enjoyed Pantera for years. I used to use Pantera music in the background during deathmatching :)

    Most of the time, when I read these "FOUND DEAD" posts, I do a google news search just in case, and well, it did prove fruitful this time. Though completely offtopic.

    Anyway, back to studying for a Cell Biology final.
