Knoppix 3.7 Released

twener writes "Version 3.7 of the bootable GNU/Linux Live CD Knoppix has been released and is available via Bittorrent or on the Knoppix Mirrors. Some of the new features are lots and lots of package updates including KDE 3.3.1, Kernel 2.4.27 + 2.6.9 (w/ ACPI), Java security update (1.4.2_06) and more supported graphics cards."

    all I ever use them for is to boot up and get a command line to fix Grub/Lilo or change a root password that was forgotten (yeah there are some dumbasses out there. A whole desktop which takes 12 minutes to load isn't my cup of tea.

    The only full blown desktops on a CD which make sense to me are the ones like Ubuntu Live CD. It allows you to check hardware compatibility before you install on the hard drive rather than have an unpleasant surprise afterwards.

    For anything else, I require is a console that starts up fast!!
