New Advent Children Trailer

EvilAvatar has a heads up about a new trailer on the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children site. (Trailer 3) It is quite impressive, and features glimpses of all the major characters from the game, more hints as to what the plot will revolve around, and a few moments from the game's plot as well. Japanese language only.

Being pedantic, I know, but the post didn't actually call it a game - it was just saying that the characters from Final Fantasy VII itself have all shown their ugly mugs in the trailers at this point.

This trailer has been out for about a week now. It's four minutes long, and for fans, you'll get 1/2 second glimpses of Barret, Yuffie and red 13 in here. You'll also get to see Aeris' shoes.

Once the flash interface has loaded up, you want to navigate to the left hexagon.

Wait till the rotating spokes turn to the picture of the face.

Make sure you time it so you get the biggest picture of the face at the apex of the rotation.

Click and wait for it to download.

Yes, I think flash is a horrible invention as well.

It's been out for quite a bit longer, considering that it's basically the same as the one from the Tokyo Game Show. The only difference here is in quality (as in, it's not from a camcorder).

I believe you're referring to the version ripped from the Young GANGAN promo DVD, which became available in Japan on Dec. 3. However, the trailer has only been up at the official AC website since this past Friday.

Where'd you get this info? I know there's a lot of speculation going on around the net, but that's all it is. Nobody knows anything as far as I know.

Half of your statement is factually incorrect, anyway - it says right in the trailer (maybe not this one, maybe trailer 1 or 2) that it takes place two years after FF7.

The only other things you can really gather from the trailers are that a) the children of the world have lost hope after the devastation wreaked in FF7 (it specifically says this in one of the trailers), b) Cloud is drawn back into battle again, apparently against his will, and c) some dude who looks like Sephiroth's son is playing Cloud's adversary.

You can make whatever guesses you want from this info, but that's all they are - guesses. I'll throw my speculation out there, which is that one of Sephiroth's failed clones survived (the dude in the wheelchair) and is using the children of the world to incite a revolution and retake the planet in the name of Jenova. Cloud returns to stop it. I mean it sounds simple, but it's going to have to be simple to fit into a 70 minute movie. Lots of people have come up with all sorts of complicated scenarios based on the trailers but this is not an 80 hour game we're talking about, it's a 70 minute movie. It's going to be a fairly straightforward story, and based on the after-credits ending of FF7, we know how it all turns out already.

I got my info from people who have watched the movie already.... you DO know most of it was screened already only the ending is unknown.

Maybe YOU should look info before you start posting something isnt known when it is know, hell Squares own site talkes about the whole star sickness plotline. Likewise it IS known Spehiroth and Aries are NOT in the movie but flashbacks to them are and Kuja might be a clone of Sephiroth though thats speculation based on the pre screening.

The style looks exactly the same as the one in the previous Final Fantasy movie (a bit more anime-ish though) - I can't see they really evolved in anything, so I figure only Final Fantasy and anime fans would love this.

Oh dear lord let's hear more about the big movie-only sequel to Final Freaking Fantasy VII.

I lost interest in Final Fantasy games some time ago, it is true, but I could see all this ruckus a bit more sympathetically if this were a game. It's like a gigantic cut-scene! Full motion video was the LEAST interesting part of the original game. (Most interesting part? Materia system.)

But if they resurrect Aeris in this, my opinion of the series will drop an additional point. Considering that the big Final Fantasy guy over at Square is supposed to have quit recently, I wouldn't place any bets against that happening.

Anyway. I think that Square /has/ improved muchly since "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within". The feel is much less plasticy and the lips are better. They're less unrealistically thin, and the movements are smoother.

Plus, unlike X-2, it's a lot less... bright. I think the brightness made it kind of unrealistic.

The only complaint I'd have would be the fact that they removed Sephiroth's (in)famous bangs. That and the hair kind of looks thick. But it's better than in chunks like in X and X-2.

Also, it was Square's original intention to bring Aeris back in FF7. However, I don't think that will be happening. It seems like her role is big enough as a part of Cloud's mentality. Although, it seems Sephy's making a comeback (source: daeya.org. Special screenshots, 'bonus' screens).

    Also, thanks for the link. I've been looking for that forever. (Except they took it off Daeya and Filefront, I believe.) So I'm still looking for the translations. >.o;
