MPAA to Sue BitTorrent Tracker Servers
Mirkon writes "The Register and Reuters report that the Motion Picture Association of America is planning to begin a legal assault on websites that host BitTorrent trackers for copyrighted movie files. An announcement is supposed to be made by the MPAA President/CEO today, along with help from CEO of private P2P network developer Red Swoosh, and the CEO of BayTSP, 'which offers file-branding and -tracking applications.' Not that they have any vested interests in this of course. Though the articles take care to mention that this action is not against standard users, how long is it until BitTorrent itself is targeted?" Apropos of nothing, I saw a movie in the theaters a few days ago. At the official start time, the lights dimmed. Then there were 14 minutes of commercials (Pepsi, hair mousse, cologne, etc.) followed by 13 minutes of movie trailers (which are also advertising), followed by a few minutes of junk, followed by a 100-minute movie. I can't imagine why people would want to download movies when they have that great theater experience to compare against.

Not only that, you forgot the most important part of your story: knowing that all of the crap you mentioned is standard practice, you were stupid enough to PAY them for the privilege to abuse you like that .

Look on the bright side, you can show up much later to movies and still make them on time. And with today's ticket prices, the theaters are almost never full, so you can still get a decent seat 30 minutes into the... er... commercials...
Seriously though, I can't believe it's gotten this bad. And nealy 15$ for a ticket. I've paid less for DVDs. I don't think piracy is the problem here...

Actually, I'd rather the movie industry started to do something about making the experience of going to the movies more fun than hassle. I've gone to damn few movies in theaters, simply because the seats suck, the theaters are always crowded, and morons (particularly in the theater in Methuen, MA) talk through the whole fucking movie all the time. No shit, last time I was there some kids started talking shit to me for simply looking behind me when I heard someone yelling.
Yes, they were black. I hate seeing stereotypes reinforced like that.
I'd also prefer them to run the commercials -before- the start time, as some chains do now. Trailers are one thing, but 15 minutes of "Let's all go to the lob-by!" type stuff is fucking ridiculous.

I rip the DVD's as soon as I get them and send them back to Neflix for more. Many of my friends do this as well. And then we copy off of each other. Works out well.

Anything that you, yourself, create is going to be shitty and rather stupid -not to mention poorly done. You are NOT going to be able to make a film on a par of The Godfather, you're NOT going to be able to make an album on a par with Dark Side Of The Moon, you are NOT going to be able to make a book along the lines of The Tommyknockers.
People who have created those works were able to because THAT IS THEIR LIFE. We have to work, and most people are fucking incredibly untalented.
Whatever else you believe, mass media is the ONLY MEDIA that there is. The only alternatives to the mass media is shitty doodles and folky warbling. Which is to say even worse fucking crap.
Yet, most of the movie and entertainment industry IS owned by jews. That is jews as a racial entity. If these folks would actually practice Judaism, they would not act as they do. Look at Israel and you will see Jews in their natural state. They are the most socialist state on the face of the planet. Those Jews really care about their fellow men. The jews in the movie industry, however, are really only breeding hatred for all things jewish. Whenever a twelve year old kid is persecuted, or an old grandmother put in prison; whenever a poor kid has his parents home legally stolen by billionaires simply because he recorded a song or even 'illegally heard it'; and in thousands of other cases a line will be drawn. This line will track back to the root of the persecution: jewish control of our societial laws and finances. Jews control banks so that common folk and especially old folk cannont get credit. Jews control the law profession and the much of the political establishment so that criticism of jews draws retaliation legally. Jews control the retail sector and have been behind the dismantleing of our factories and the exportation of our jobs overseas to areas of slave labor wage scales and slave labor working conditions. Jews would legally enslave us if they could, and that day will not be far off if they are not stopped. The way to stop them is political. The first step is to admit to ourselves that anti-semitism is actually in our vital interest, and that laws that forbid this or limit it punish citixens for it need to be changed. The next is to think nationally and act locally to boycott those who would impoverish us and cheat us. The biggest 'pirates' of all are precisely those who are the biggest accusers of 'piracy'. Want proof, just read about who has gone to court for price fixing, payola, supply rigging. Look at the 'zone system' for DVD's and tell yourself that this is for YOUR good. You can lie to othere, how about yourself. When will it be enough for us to realize that these jews are not Americans, and neither have they now nor will they ever have our interests at heart....assuming jews come with one of those. My German ancestors were right. In time we Americans will seek a solution to these greedy rapacious parasites on our people as well. Failing that, we will be eventually drawn into wars against those who still resist jewish control of the world, like our present struggle with Muslim nations. We should actually find common cause with some of the more secular of these Muslims. Consider the Muslim proverb: ..."the enemy of mine enemy is my friend!". We should at the very least refuse to die in foreign adventures that only benefit international jewish control. Do not volunteer for Iraq. Refuse to become a mercenary for the movie and record industries as they are arms of international judaism. ....slowly so that new ones can grow quickly. If troops have to be sent...then YOU will be then directly and unequivicoly ordered to die for the jews in the MPAA. If you die this way, you will get no reward from them. It is we Americans who will support your widow and children, not the jews who could care less.
So a site is in Palestine! OK, if troops eventually 'have to be sent' to take that site down, and that is what it will take, for new ones will spring up even as old ones are grudgingly and under pressure of the threat of attack taken down by a Syrian government
