Subatomic Darwinism

According to the Nature article: "If, as quantum mechanics says, observing the world tends to change it, how is it that we can agree on anything at all? Why doesn't each person leave a slightly different version of the world for the next person to find? Because, say the researchers, certain special states of a system are promoted above others by a quantum form of natural selection, which they call quantum darwinism. Information about these states proliferates and gets imprinted on the environment. So observers coming along and looking at the environment in order to get a picture of the world tend to see the same 'preferred' states."."

Paul McLellan, general manager of Minneapolis-based ServiceLighting.com, which had an ad on the site, said Komarnitsky's actions were unethical.

"Finding out he's making a buck off of something that costs us a buck, it's not very cool," McLellan said.

Can someone explain what the fuck ServiceLighting.com are whining about? They paid to advertise on his site, and the site got thousands of hits. What's it to them?

Yeah, of course he "makes a buck" (selling ads) and it costs them "a buck" (buying ads).

People pay a lot more to advertise in the Times, and that's generally just as fake.
