IBM Grid Near 50,000 machines - Slashdot Users #13
another similar writes "IBM's World Community Grid is off to a roaring start. Since kicking off six weeks ago (original Slashdot story), the grid has grown to almost 36,000 users with almost 50,000 machines. Growth continues as more media coverage hits.
There is a team of Slashdot users - currently ranked 13th in points with only 79 members. If you have spare cycles, download the software, join us and crank for medicine. For those of you with dual processor systems, you'll have to use a homebrewed tool - beyond two is not supported yet. Alas, you also have to be running Redmond's finest. According to their FAQ, a Linux client is slated for development in 2005."
Almost all slashdotters run windows.
They just don't know how to run it properly, hence the incessant whining.
Where someone is referred from is none of your business, mr violating our rights online.
I've been slashdotted before, and 90%+ were Windows running IE.
The type of people that would waste time reading your posts, and then bother clicking on your lame ass website are Linux users, of that I don't doubt you.
But the ratio of windows to linux as far as the readers go, is about the same as the ratio at large.
nothing but trolls, idiots, and geek wantabes, and that is only the owners, don't get me started on the asses that normaly read slashdot.
Oh fucking asshole, if you are that worryed about your so called rights, go fucking jump off a fucking cliff.
If you don't want people to know about you then fucking don't fucking browse the fucking web, have a job, have a bank account, or any fucking thing you probably have, don't have citizen ship in any fucking county you stupid fuck, if you want your privica go fucking kill your fucking self you dumb fuck.
Seriously. I may be legally drunk on the night before New Year's, but I really don't see why I should be REQUIRED to register to contribute cycles. I would be more than happy to do it anonymously but the registration just cost them a few processors. Sorry but that's just how I feel. (That's not how I feel your mother!)
