VoIP Predictions for 2005

      You know, most women have broader shoulders than men these days. Look at Jennifer Garner or most Hollywood actresses, or just in the street. Most women look like linebackers these days. I find that my own "male" body looks more female than a woman's!! My hips are as wide as my shoulders.

      Women have the V shaped body nowadays. I'm wondering how this came to be. Are they just working out more because of the pro-woman society we live in, like there are more women in universities?

      Or is our male-hating society having an effect on the self-esteem of young men, causing their cortisol levels to increase and testosterone to decrease, causing a more traditionally female body in men?

      Why are the women portrayed as attractive in our society built like teenage boys from 50 years ago?

      Anyways, transexuals usually only look good if they start treatments early. I'm surprised that someone who got surgery late like her can still look reasonably feminine.

      recently a tranny was killed by a US Marine that thought he was picking up a female, when he discovered that he was decieved and the wrong package was installed downunder he killed her...

      trannys better be carefull it is deceptive advertising of the worst kind...

      Well, that sucks. For sure the tranny should advertise, but let's face it, the marine was probably not in the quantum physics section of the library either. He should have known what part of town he's in, ya know?

      Anyways, I'd like a link to your story so I don't have to make shit up.

      POLICE in Los Angeles shot dead a US marine after he killed a transexual prostitute.

      The marine shot the prostitute after picking her up in Hollywood, believing she was a woman.

      The marine was killed while allegedly brandishing a handgun during a confrontation with police after a high-speed car chase through the city.

      Officers first tried to subdue the marine with beanbag rounds but eventually were forced to use live ammunition.

      Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Sara Faden said a handgun was later recovered at the scene.

      The marine got into a row with the prostitute and shot her in his car before dumping the body, police said.

      Police cars began pursuing him after a witness called authorities.

      They could not immediately confirm that the marine shot the prostitute after discovering he had picked up a transexual by mistake.

  5. VOCL Investor Still Holding My Breath by Anonymous Coward · · Score: 0, Offtopic

    About 7 years ago I invested in VocalTec (VOCL). It was the first company out of the block for VOIP and founded the IP Telephony exchange to commoditize billing across international networks. Currently, it specializes in IP packet solutions to large scale vendors. Deutche Telecom is its largest customer.

    As the article said, VOIP was just around the corner to riches. Some 7 years latter the stock has plunged I'm out about $30,000. The stock remains flatlined at about $1.40/share and I'm looking to sell at a loss for tax purposes (my patience has run out).

    Anyway, I suspect that if VOIP does ever gets off the ground CEO's and other corporate board types and politicans and FCC bureaucrats will siphon off any reasonable profit made by ordinary investors regardless of how large the profit. But for now, at least I am comforted in knowing that they are not getting any richer than I am through their investment in VOIP.

    Prosperity may be right around the corner, as the Republican Party campaign ad said. Its just that it is probably a corner of some slum in Bagdad where someone will take an unexpected shot at you (like ie VOIP wiretapping by our new police state masters, who no doubt will make a profit by summarizing calls for sale to corporations who wish to know what kinds of products you are likely to buy so they can send VOIP spam; insiders I know say Karl Rove's gang can already tap into the conversations via Echelon of any democratic party operative in near real time regardless of the phone they are using, so I'm no longer surprised at anything in this area anymore). Its just as well the new torture directives will allow only "severe pain" rather than "excrutiating pain".

    I'm not holding my breath for riches any more. I'm holding my breath due to the stink of such silly PR-type stories.
