India's Cops Meet Technology

TopherTG writes "Do cops told to seize computers to return only with monitors, stapling pirated floppies together or arresting CEOs for their customer's crimes sound familiar? It would in India. Wired is running a rather humorous article on the minglings between cops and techies."

You think you're so clever. This just proves the point that many IT folks don't know how to follow instructions (probably) because they think they always know better (which may or may not be the case, but it's immaterial). What would happen in a war zone, police pursuit, rescue situation, etc if someone just took it upon themselves to blindly ignore the instructions. Granted there are situations where it's imperative to use your own judgment, but this doesn't sound like one of those instances; rather, this was just a way for you to "do it to da man" and brag about it latter.

I would have reassigned your ass to a less responsible position.

I suppose by your definition, anyone who points out that /. folks aren't necessarily perfect is a, "troll." Seems more like the AC poster who simply says, "go away" is a true troll.
