CBC Opens ZeD.cbc.ca Code
ivar writes "The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has open sourced (Apache License 2.0) the code used to build ZeD.cbc.ca. The corresponding TV show (typically consisting of content uploaded by the community) aired the announcement last night (Jan 6_, along with the Canadian broadcast premiere of Revolution OS. It's always heartening to see cool things come from a state run corporation..."
I don't get why this is important or relevant.
Keep on seeing them, those really miserable dull depressing unfunny cartoons that Canadians make when they get some sponsorship from the Canadian Film Commission (or whatever it is called).
They always start up with some kinda-French title that wobbles, with "Created with funding from the Film Board of Canada" underneath. Then you get a too long animated bit of depression.
Who makes these things, and more importantly, why do they get money?
"It's always heartening to see cool things come from a state run corporation..."
Why is it particularly heartening to see these things come from state run corporations? A little too emotionally invested in the state are we? Wouldn't you rather the cool things come from public corporations you could own shares in?
And wasn't it just yesterday that everyone was mocking Bill Gates's "communist" comment? Don't articles like this suggest that maybe he's not entirely wrong?
THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL
It's actually been a little annoying that the CBC hasn't realized it's "Hockey Night in Canada", not "NHL Night in Canada". There might be good contractual reasons for this, however...
hahaha....how typically canadian
Canadian lefties think that there are two views: left, and wrong. They are so blinded by their own views, that they can't acknowledge that there is a bias to them.
Nothing wrong with having a certain view, but take the blinders off and acknowledge that the CBC has a VERY hard left bias.
