Extremely Critical IE6/SP2 Exploit Found
Spad writes "Secunia is reporting on three vulnerabilities in IE6 running on XP SP2. Any of these, in combination with an inappropriate behaviour where the ActiveX Data Object (ADO) model can write arbitrary files, can be exploited to compromise a user's system. Moreover, the vulnerability can be used to delete files from the user's system. Secunia says 'Solution: Use another product.'"
Linux cheapstakes gets back at windows with one vulnerability described in 3 ways at secunia website which was first discovered in oct 2004. Wow i didn't know Linux cheapstakes would go to this extent to downplay the Local Exploit bug in Linux kernels.
They also don't know what "Extremely Critical" means. If an exploit can delete arbitrary files from my systems, so what? I have backups. Annoying, yes...critical, no. I'm not surfing the web from critical machines.
"Extremely Critical" is an exploit that can read arbitrary files on my systems, in particular, those systems that I'm not surfing with.
"I love how objective people are(n't.)"
Right, because Slashdot always has front page news about serious vulnerabilities on non-MS products.
"Derp de derp."
what a clueless idiot

It doesn't matter. Any FUD that'll make Microsoft look bad in any way is promoted on Slashdot. If Windows users are infected by virii linked from Slashdot stories, then it's their own fault for using Windows.
P.S. I'd still be using an Amiga but I've played all the games available for it. I'll use Linux when it's not being developed by elitist fat guys who've never seen a woman naked in real life. Even Gates has gotten some pussy without paying for it, for christ's sake. Until then I'll keep using XP.
Quick, Mod parent redundant
