V for Vendetta Going to Hollywood

gludington writes "Alan Moore's "other" early masterpiece, V for Vendetta, is in early pre-production. Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers will produce for Warner Brothers, and Natalie Portman will play Evey Hammond. The rest of the movie is as yet uncast (and unwritten), so release dates on the article and the imdb entry should be taken with a sizable grain of salt."

Is there any nudity and petrification involved?

    How about hot grits?

Slashdot is supposed to be a news site with blurbs leading into the content they're linking to. Unless they're getting paid by the sites they are linking to, there is no reason to be obscure about what the fuck they're talking about. Would it be so difficult to say "Based on the graphic novel, Vendetta"? That would have answered a lot of questions.

And as someone else said, it's time to grow the fuck up. Comic books?! Aren't Taco and a few of the other guys MARRIED now?! Maybe it's time to start reading things that have more than ten words on a page?

I won't even waste the breath commenting on how oxymoronic "graphic novel" is. How the hell can an 80 page book with 20 words per page be a "novel"? It's just a thicker comic book and calling it a "novel" doesn't turn it into high art or literature.

The only thing I hate more than this anime shit are graphic fucking novels. Bunch of god damn twelve year olds.
