Titan Photos and Sounds

ahsile writes "NASA and the ESA have released the first images from Titan. The ESA also has available sounds from the surface." Reader ZZip writes: "Apparently a bunch of enthusiasts has compiled the first mosaics from the raw data delivered by the Huygens probe. Meanwhile space.com has more coverage and pictures from NASA/ESA." Say a silent thank-you to the persistent troubleshooters of the world, without whom none of this would be possible.

A humble toilet brush has beaten stiff competition to win US consumer watchdog group M-LAW's "Wacky Warning Label" contest. The offending item comes complete with the caveat "Do not use for personal hygiene" - a piece of advice sufficiently stupid to impress the jury of listeners of Detroit radio station, WOMC-FM. This year's contest - the eighth - attracted hundreds of entries from across the US. Runner-up position on the podium was occupied by a kids' scooter which declared: "This product moves when used." Third place went to a warning on a digital thermometer stating: "Once used rectally, the thermometer should not be used orally."

OTHER WINNERS. The $250 second place award went to Matt Johnson of Naperville, Illinois for a label on a popular scooter for children that warns: "This product moves when used."

Third place and $100 went to Ann Marie Taylor of Camden, South Carolina who found the following warning on a digital thermometer that can be used to take a person's temperature several different ways: "Once used rectally, the thermometer should not be used orally."

Fourth place was a label on an electric hand blender promoted for use in "blending, whipping, chopping and dicing," that warns: "Never remove food or other items from the blades while the product is operating." Sent in by Ken Stein of Berkeley, California.

In fifth place was a lael on a nine- by three-inch bag of air used as packing material. It carries this warning: "Do not use this product as a toy, pillow, or flotation device."Sent in by Christen Millard of Westerville, Ohio.

I clicked the link to read your story but I didn't get passed the first paragraph because it looks incredibly lame, whiney, borish, and anti-Bush.
