US Stem Cells Contaminated

Croaking Toad writes "According to The Register, US-based scientists using stem cells has hit a brick wall. The stem cells apparently have been contaminated for quite a while with animal proteins rendering them useless in the treatment of human illnesses. New stem cell harvesting was outlawed in the USA by a 2001 Executive Order from President Bush." To be precise, stem cell harvesting wasn't outlawed; the usage of federal funding was outlawed. Several states and research institutions have been using their own money to undertake research. The AP coverage is up as well.     i clikd on the thingummy, it didnt say anyone had posted anything, then it had one when i viewed it, then i refreshed it about 10 seconds later, there were 5, a further 10 seconds gave me a few more, including a post with at least 2 full paragraphs

    The whole federal ban on stem cell research is nothing more than an elaberate scam to trick the rest of the planet into sacrifing themselves for the benefit of the US.

    They will sacrifice millions of thier unborn children, reducing thier respective populations to something that the US need not fear.

    Since the US will drive up the price on the technology to use this 'natural resource', Americans will be the only ones able to afford it, esp if/when someone uncovers that stem cells reset some key funtion in our cells WRT to aging...

    Yea, let the rest of the planet do the work, so the US can benifit from it! Whoo hooo!
