Price Drops For Mac mini Upgrades

RustNeverSleeps writes "Apple has just lowered prices on certain build-to-order options on the Mac mini. The combination Bluetooth and AirPort Express option has gone down to $99 from $129, 1 GB RAM upgrades have been reduced to $325 from $475 and the price of an upgrade from a 40 GB hard drive to an 80 GB hard drive has been reduced to $50 from $90. Also, the original 4x SuperDrive has been upgraded to an 8x drive for the same price. Interesting that they dropped prices so soon after release. Perhaps Apple actually listened to people complaining about overpriced upgrades."

    The must-have-one group pays out the ass for the best upgrades, and then they drop the price down to something reasonable for the rest.

    "Apple can capitalize on it to get better prices from their suppliers and therefore lower costs for them and pass it on to the customer."

    Or more likely (as most companies do), keep it for themselves.

    Let's not forget that Apple is still a for-profit corporation.

    Why do people keep supporting apple? Look at their business ethics. They are known advertisers on spyware/adaware Networks. Which in my book is the equivalent of spammers. Only way these adaware/spyware and spammers stay in business is because of advertisers.

    They sued a 19 year old kid for because he found out that Apple was releasing a $500 computer. Apple is also planning to go after some other fan sites aswell.

    Seriously if this was any other company, we scream for their heads. It is time we finally hold apple accountable for their actions. I've stopped buying microsoft products long time ago, and now apple has made my list of companies i will not support.

    They should considering how much they rape them for on prices. Seriously, I don't get the Apple fandom. They rake people over the coals on prices and people cheer everytime they so much as fart. It's simply stupid. It's like they are some kind of rock group -- Elvis even.

    When they stop charging $350 for an upgrade to 1 gig of ram, give me a ring. That's when I'll buy one of there mini's.

    For $100 more I can get a nice Dell laptop that is much faster. In fact, I did... Dell 600m Celeron-M 1.3GHz.

    It's crap because who wants a 40GB hard drive anyway? The last drive I bought, 3 years ago, was 60GB because that was the magic price point back then.

    It's crap because 1GB of "Apple" memory is still outrageously overpriced.
