Running Windows Viruses Under Linux

ResQuad writes "Everyone loves Windows viruses, right? Well, the crazy people over at NewsForge (owned by the same people that own Slashdot) decided to try running Windows viruses with Wine. So next time you receive an email virus, strike up Wine and see what you can do (or not)."

    MyDoom seemed to be a .zip file, (the file command concurred) but Info-ZIP's unzip command couldn't even unzip it.

    Making Linux superior...exactly how?

    virii is not a word. Read any grammar book, attend an elementary school english class and you'll find that viruses is the only correct plural form of virus. This isn't a disputed point, it's a rule set in stone. English is not a very regular language and thus there are many words that are exceptions to the rule and virus is a very well known one.

    AVG sucks hardcore. Last time I knew autoupdate was SUPPOSED to update your definitions automatically....AVG under windows does not...In addition, last I knew virus scanners were supposed to intercept viruses BEFORE they actually get on your hard drive....AVG fails at this as well only finding viruses after they are on the hard drive and WHEN SCANNED WITH ANOTHER AV SCANNER!!!! This is not good nor useful in ANY way....WTF would I run AVG when it doesn't do ANYTHING it claims!!!
