WiFi Hotspots to Cost Wireless Carriers $12B
j.e. writes "Commercial WiFi hotspots and open WiFi networks will take about $12 billion out of wireless carrier revenue pie, says Starategy Analytics. With high prices of mobile data services from wireless carriers, the users are more prone to use a cheap WiFi connection, if one is available."

Well it's not too hard to spot an idiot on slashdot, that I can tell you! How are you even able to work a keyboard I wonder? (Though from your post, it's pretty obvious that operating a keyboard is about 10% above your level of mental ability)
There is no pie.
"Starategy Analytics"?!? Is that what Bush is calling it these days?
ProofReading Markup Language - and yes, I find typos.
I like your handle. My 4 year old agrees heartily!

Actually, it's a different Dora.

In the USA, T-Mobile sells an Internet plan with unlimited access over GPRS for $30/month. And if you already have a Phone plan, they charge you only $20/month.
Technically you have 2 options:
- either you buy a PCMCIA GPRS card in which you insert your SIM card
- or you connect your laptop to your phone (via a usb, serial, or bluetooth connection)
This is very cheap compared to other wireless carrier (eg: Cingular $80/month for unlimited access). Has any slashdotter ever suscribed to this plan ?
It seems I remember that when John Kerry was running for President, his supporters swore that George Bush, the President he wanted to replace, was costing us trillions of dollars by setting up a tax plan where fewer people paid taxes and the people who pay taxes pay less.
