Man Reportedly Jailed for Using Lynx
wezzul writes "A Londoner made a tsunami-relief donation using Lynx on Sun's Solaris operating system. The site operator decided that this 'unusual' event in the system log indicated a hack attempt, and the police broke down the donor's door and arrested him." Honestly, though, aside from a BBC article about a tsunami fund hacking probe that doesn't mention user agents there's little to corroborate this. Hopefully Lynx users need not worry too much yet.
w3m is ... how do you say ... "teh bestest omg" text-browser. It's incredible how fast I get things done withit compared to the Mozilla-bloat- and -crapware.

Those indians who barely even knew how to type in 1998 would probably never have even heard of a console browser :)
Its bad enough that their call center staff cant even pronounce english names correctly, or even spell names correctly "My name is BOB, not BWOB".
When will employers realise that you cannot run a company on cheap incompetent staff, its like running your 747 with 1 crew member and flying on one engine because it can just barely, not because its safe. "Look mom, I saved the company 120m dollars by hiring monkeys, in the first quarter we will project 500m more in profit". Then 18 months later its loosing 200m a month, but the CEO has left with his 8m bonus payment.
