BBC Bill Gates Interview
securitas writes "The BBC's Stephen Cole interviews Bill Gates in the first of a two-part interview. In the first half of the interview with the technology show Click Online, Gates discusses his view of the 'digital lifestyle' that Microsoft has been pushing for some time, lately with its Windows Media Center PCs.
Sample quote: 'People don't want lots and lots of single purpose devices.... The PC has more software, more competition, more richness than anything else. So making it simple and rich, that means the PC will be the key device.' Streaming media in Real format is also available. [Video: Broadband | Narrowband]"
This website has turned into a bunch of Mac loving religious zealots.
Get with the program. Not all of us like Macs and never will. The biggest reason is the lack of a good shell interface. The Mac interface does have a lot of eye candy, but functionally it is just silly, inconsistent, and dead wrong on many counts. While I may like Apple hardware, I will never buy a Mac because of the stupid interface.
Windows and Linux on the other hand don't have the best interfaces, but at least they admit that things need to change...progress...to find the best. The history if Unix is full of "test" interfaces while Windows has had Program Manager, Explorer Shell, and will have a new one with Longhorn. Macs on the other hand have carried that stupid bastardized interface since the beginning. It is just deplorable. No app should separate its logic and menus to a line at the top of the screen. Things don't work that way in the real world. When you choose to interact with your TV or stereo does a menu bar appear at the top of your living room? Does your cars operational controls appear at the top of the windshield? NO DAMN IT! Operational controls should stay with the APPS. The Mac method was developed by idiots.
Go away Mac freaks, I don't want you here.
