KDE looks bad.
Gnome looks good.
That would be enough.
KDE feels like win.
Gnome doesn't.
KDE - I don't know its shortcuts.
Gnome - I do.
KDE - is not GNU.
Gnome - is GNU (well, maybe for most people that's bad, but for me it's great)
Maybe the original poster has some other reasons, but I find these enough to use Gnome.
