EFF's Logfinder

clonebarkins writes "EFF has just released a new software tool called "logfinder" to help server admins find (and delete) unnecessary log files on their boxen. "By finding unwanted log files, logfinder informs system administrators when their servers are collecting personal data and gives them the opportunity to turn logging off if it isn't gathering information necessary for administering the system.""

    I log every IP and turned on content-logging, too, just in case some of my employees does non-authorized stuff in my network.

    I recommend every employer to do the same.

    Holy shit, give this app a little slack. Do you manage a 1000+ web server farm? NOPE! You work at a school...not managing large systems.

    Point me to one significant F/OSS project you maintain/contribute to - then you may complain about this.
