Straczynski Offers To Re-Boot Star Trek [updated]
EvilMagnus writes "I just came across this thread over on usenet where J. Michael Straczynski, creator of Babylon 5 and Jeremiah, talks about the cancellation of Enterprise. It seems he and a collaborator have already written a series bible and treatment for a new version of Star Trek - but it's not been pitched to Paramount out of 'political considerations' (Berman refusing to give up his dead horse?). JMS calls for everyone who thinks a JMS-run Star Trek series would be a good idea to write Paramount and let them know." Along similar lines, yonnage writes "Last week there was an article posted here about Enterprise fans atempting to pay for the next season of Enterprise. It seems that all the efforts have been pulled together and a new website has been created and has started collecting contributions for Enterprise's next season." Update: 02/16 19:47 GMT by T : Read the rest of the thread to see JMS's followup; he's decided to at least postpone this endeavor.
Why bring back Star Trek, why not just let it die, which is what Gene Roddenbury should have done after NBC had the right iddea to cancel it.
btw, first post?
Who gives a shit about Star Trek Enterprise? There seems to be some stupid god damned story every day about this crappy show that some geeks want to resurrect. You know what? Some things are meant to die... please, for the goodwill of mankind, don't bring this shit back to life.
Ok, I don't mean to be rude. Actually you've forced me, it was 100% necessary to do it. You're all friggin geeks. I had no idea who the hell Bergman was, but you all seem to know his detailed life story. I still have no idea who he is, and frankly I don't care!!!
Now the main issue I have with all you friggen geeks is that you're also stupid. Ok, I'll admit that often being a geek is the only option, especially if you look like one, but for crying out loud, when you geek out on Star Trek and do stupid things like clarify decision making discussions between Star Trek producers, alive or dead, or even worse, when you take the opportunity to yell something geekly like "More Will Wheaton", I'm guessing that was the kid in TNG, PLEASE POST ANONYMOUS!!!
There is one guy that posted, there were pictures of him, his wife, and his new child on his blog which was linked to the response. I mean the kid isn't old enough to chew food and already is forced to be associated with her daddy when he's geeking out at an embarressing level. I mean you people are so damn geeky that even your neighbors should be ashamed to know you, they should be scared it might wear off on their kids or pets.
