Sim Icarus Boeing 777 Handmade Flight Deck

ShadowsMV writes "Three technology students finishing up their degrees at the DuPage Campus of DeVry University spent a term designing and building one of the most nifty flight simulators yet. Named the Sim Icarus Flight Deck, it accurately recreates the primary flight accessory controls of the Boeing 777, and interfaces directly with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. They have tons of pictures and lists of everything you need! Previous flight decks featured on slashdot include An awesome homebuilt and wideview with 13 Monitors And 9 PCs."

    Just another proof that even the third rate secondary educational institutions in the US still produce more productive/innovative students than anywhere else in the world. When was the last time we saw something from a Canadian university (let alone a tech school) on slashdot?

      Hey, I resemble that remark! (Though, I would have been far more harsh in crapping on Canada.)

      And, yes, I'd rather die starving in an American gutter, than have so much of my hard-earned money taken from me in the form of "taxes for free healthcare", that I don't have enough left to spend for real medical care necesasry to save my own life. I'll do my damndest to ensure that neither I, my wife, or our kids (at least one of which is fortunate enough to be an American citizen), don't get murdered by the Canadian government the way my father was.

      There's little desire "go back" anyway: I'd be jailed. See, Canada requires a husband to support a wife in the manner to which she has become accustomed and there is no way I could earn the salary in Canada that I earn in the U.S. The penalty is jail until you make the required salary. The idea is that the threat of jail forces married men to earn more to feed the tax monster and avoid incarceration.

    We must safeguard this aircraft simulation technology from China. Beijing would surely use it to improve the training of the pilots who fly the jet fighters and bombers in the Chinese Air Force. It is the same airforce that bombed more than 100,000 Tibetans to their deaths in 1951.
