Apple Agrees to Hold Off on Subpoenas
ido writes "Apple has agreed to hold off on serving subpoenas related to their John Doe civil suits against some free press journalists to reveal sources releasing Apple's "trade secrets." This is related to a previous article." The original story has some more background info as well. While Apple is notorious for its secrecy before MacWorlds, Apple probably figured out that dragging people into court usually does little for one's popularity.

I've stopped buying apple since I saw all the microsoft ads on slashdot. They really hit home. Lower total cost of ownership. That says it all. I only see apples in product placements in movies now. And we all know movies are the stuff of fantasy, so remember that when you see an office in a movie with and apple in it.
I also liked the graphs that were in some of the microsoft ads on slashdot. As if words weren't enough, there it was in pictures too. I'd rather pay for windows, whatever it cost, than to get linux or apple, because with windows, you know there's a greater chance of microsoft being sued, than of them suing you.
Not so with apple or linux. Check out archive.org to see some of those old graphs in the ads to see what I mean.
Anyway, I've taken up enough of both your time, and the poor moderator's time. I'm going back to share a folder across my microsoft lan. Just one touch of a mouse is all it takes. Incredible. As I charge out my time at $28 per hour, that certainly is a lower total cost of ownership (lcot).
There are none so blind as those that allow words to fall on deaf ears.
