Babylon 5 Theatrical Movie Falls Through
duck2ducks writes "According to a post from JMS, the Babylon 5 feature film has been cancelled. This is sad news indeed for all fans of one of the best sci-fi stories ever produced." From Straczynski's post: "In the end, however, the deal could be put together, and it did not
look as if that was going to change at any point in the foreseeable
future. So the option has reverted, and to all intents and purposes,
the project has dead ended."
Opinions are like assholes, you know. Andreas Katsulas and Peter Jurasik both did exceptionally well with their parts.
Perhaps your biggest beef is that it simply doesn't follow your own artistic vision, and while many people liked Babylon 5, no one really gives a shit about your own work.
Firefly? One of the best sci-fi stories ever produced? *blinks* aha yeah...right...sure...and wil wheaton's one of the best actors out there...oh, and linux already won the OS wars, and we haven't realized it yet.

ya, my problem with B5 is that it was boring as hell. Probably the most boring sci-fi show I've ever watched. Stargate SGXYZ comes in close behind with its boring content.
So lets see... B5 sucked, Stargate SG sucks, Farscape sucked, DS9 sucked, Voyager sucked. There's some Stargate Atlantis or something I'll never watch unless it's hugely better than the other crappy series.
The original Star Trek was alright along with ST:TNG, Firefly was OK, Enterprise wasn't great but watchable, Space: Above and Beyond was pretty good, and the new Battlestar Galactica seems pretty good.
Good.

Mod me down, you fucking twits. Go ahead. I dare you.
(I read with sigs off.)
Really.
The special effects were great for the time. The characters, setup and arc were intriguing.
But I cringed each time I watched an episode.
I kept watching until the second season when I figured it wasn't getting better.
It was just too painful.
Cliched, hackneyed writing with college level actors. Really.
I was disappointed.
I checked in every so often and was shocked when I saw that Harlan Ellison was involved later. My brief glimpses of later episodes produced slightly fewer cringes per episode, but were still below par.
I saw that J. Michael Straczynski was a writer and sometimes producer for He-man and the master s of the universe, Murder She Wrote, and other such pap.
Then I understood.
Then came Farscape and there was much rejoicing.
