Star Wars Sith Trailer and the O.C.

williamw83 writes "CNN is reporting that the Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith trailer will make its debut during none other than Fox's "The O.C." The article is candid in pointing out that 'as an avid superhero fan, Seth Cohen, the main character of "The O.C." played by Adam Brody, would likely relish the event.' The trailer will air during the March 10 episode, at sometime between 8 and 9PM EST. The article also makes note for those not wishing to tune into the TV drama that "the new trailer will be released in movie theaters beginning March 11.""

    Yawn.....

    So Slashdot editors decided it was front page worthy to plug both a trailer(a.k.a an ad) for a so far bad trilogy, premiering on a bad TV show.

    What demographic does it boost for O.C. when Slashdot geeks, who need a life and think Star Wars is still cool even though Lucas has butchered his franchise with the prequels, rush to Slashdot O.C. with their TV remotes?

    How much do you think Lucas and O.C. paid Slashdot editors to plug their lame ass media "event" to the one demographic most vulnerable to their manipulation, Slashdot geeks?

    Dear slashdot.

    I keep clicking around and can't find any option to block that starwars crap from displaying on my Main page every 2 days. Same for boreship galactica.

    Is adding 'Movies' section to preferences-home page too much of a troll? How about 'Paid Stories' section?
