This is the eXecute Disable (XD) bit...The Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX and Opteron processors also offer this feature, which AMD calls No eXecute (NX).

wow, I'm glad you linked to that article and showed me the light. I guess I"ll just have to get an athlon 64 if the 6XX series really performed THAT bad.
