Yes, I know that most people do not use it for that.

    Guess what?

    I don't give a crap.

Bittorrent is just a file distribution tool that happens to have been hijacked by the piracy community to fulfill their own demands. The creator of Bittorrent does not condone or encourage this use of his software, but he correctly realizes there's not a lot he can do about it. Bittorrent happens to be very good at what it does, so it's not terribly suprising that the community of people that illegally share copyrighted content would eventually adopt it for their own use. If somebody makes a better tool, the pirates will then probably migrate to that one.

If you don't give a crap that I don't give a crap, put me on your foes list and keep me modded down by -5 or something. As for nobody else caring that I don't give a crap, well that's for the slashdot community at large to decide via its moderation system.

And yes, I do happen to have more than a tangential interest in the subject of copyright law and consumers rights with respect to coypright law. My reasons for this level of interest are my own, but that doesn't diminish my right to express my views.
