Kazaa Outed Over 'Trust Fund' for Red Cross

danwarne writes "In one of the most bizarre twists in the court action against Kazaa yet, documents have been tendered in Australian Federal Court court that showed that Kazaa claimed to have set up a trust fund for donations to the Red Cross (at about the time the tsunami hit), but the Red Cross has confirmed in writing it has never heard from them about it. The music industry alleged in court that it was a tactic by Kazaa parent company Sharman Networks to park money out of the reach of the music industry if it loses the case and is left with a huge damages bill. This in the same week that it came out in court that top Sharman/BDE execs offloaded their multi-million dollar homes. Sounds like Kazaa's lawyers might be telling them to prepare for the worst..."

Okay, guys, quick hint on moderating. A post can't very well be "-1 Overrated" if it has not, as of that point, been "rated." Redundant, flamebait, troll, or offtopic (as this one is) perhaps. But not overrated. But if you are the first person rating it, it can't yet be overrated.

Unless I'm wrong...and feel free to correct me if I am.

You're a n00b here so I'll tell you this: you can't moderate "overrated". It's done during metamoderation. And you'll get a nice "offtopic" in five minutes! (so will I)

Yes, you certainly can moderate something overrated. It's used to ESCAPE metamoderation, as this moderation does not go through that phase.

The parent post is the n00b, and the grandparent post will be modded Overrated.

It sounds to me that a centalized P2P network database is trying to extend its venue to banking. Kazaa is sinking! When eBay granted monopoly to PayPal, the eBay venue went to shit because PayPal had the blessing to access the eBay registration database to pander upon eBay participants. PayPal isn't even a bank, as confronted by U.S. Congress, and has slithered around without by its being in Germania and the primary fund with attached fraudulent IOU's held by Wells Fargo in the United States! Kazaa, acting as a bank? I'm glad I don't use Kazaa. I'ld rather endure the fear of downloading a Oops I Did It Again in my endless search on a non-Kazaa network for Alice in Chains.

Please donate to my fund to give relief to me, Al Franken, horrified and dismayed at the terrible things that are happening since the tsunami. The price I pay for hashish has quadrupled since the carnage, and my investment in the fishing industry has taken a dive since it was reported that the fish are eating the victims.

Please, help me maintain the lifestyle that I have become accustomed to, you'll feel better for it...
