Build Your Own Cell tower

BlakeCaldwell writes "If you're the type who dreads being dragged kicking and screaming into the use of a cell phone, Samsung sells their Long Range Cordless Phone. With an incredible (for landlines) 30-mile range, the set includes a caller ID-capable LCD and is able to communicate with the base-station, acting as an intercom."

What does this phone have to do with building your own cell tower? Worst headline on Slashdot ever?

Who cares if the hams have been using radio stuff for 40+ years? The fact is that hams are worthless. They don't contribute anything to society. THey just tinker in their garages and basements building crappy radio stuff with tubes. They pollute the landscape with eyesore antennae. They get all excited about using a profitable resource like the airspace for what amounts to a radio geek meat beat festival instead of actually doing work for a business that puts money into the pockets of regular folk. If you ask me, this is overdue. Ham radio needs to die and die now. There hasn't been any significant contribution to business from the ham radio operators, so why should they be allowed to continue? Take the spectrum away from them now and give it to the businesses that can use that resource to the greatest financial advantage for America. Ham Radio = waste of space (and airspace too)
