FLISOL: Simultaneous Install Fest in 100+ Cities
Azul writes "The FLISOL, Latin American Free Software Install Fest (English), is an install fest we are holding simultaneously across many Latin American countries. In total, we are organizing events in around 15 countries and over 100 cities. You can contact us by writing to flisol@bachue.com. The events are going to be held in around two weeks, the 2nd of April."
Bring your Lysol to FLISOL.
With a room full of smelly geeks, you'll need it
they all laughed at us when we said there was money to be made in programming, they laughed at us when we said open source was the way, they pointed and sneered, joking about the pale-faced spotty kid with glasses, they said we didn't know how to have fun, well, who's laughing now?
Ah.
In total, we are organizing events in around 15 countries and over 100 cities.
Ouch... I'd hate to be their local Debian mirror.
in the correct place when they say Latinamerican... :)
I live in Texas...depending on who you ask it might qualify as latin american... ;)
:)
For some of us, we didn't cross the border, the border crossed us
It would be nice to make it worldwide next year. I think it's a very good thing for free software. It is time to stop converting the converted and move to people who doesn't know about free software.

Isn't this great? A lot of this countries use to have wars between their neighboards.
Today thanks to the Internet and FreeSoftware we are working together for a better feature. It is a better feature becuase we are working together and becoming friends with people of the other countries.
Also it is a better feature because with free software we can have a legal software free of virus and free of spyware. Also we can use it without paying stupid amount of money or breaking the law with piracy.
A better feature because with free software not all the money would go to a few big companies in a few countries. Free Software can be modify by anyone and that would help us to research. Give the money to the people of your country for their work and not only to mr billy.
Greetings,
Rafael
Someone came up with a way to hose an apt repository for good....
So, Brazil is still the country most concerned with Open Source, with 30 cities hosting this event.
I wish Mexico was more involved with this, but I guess none of us have the time for this kind of thing. And it looks like there are no sponsors for any city in Mexico; the organizers all seem to be universities or research organizations.
Go hug some trees.
Isn't this as important to appear in front page? If FLISOL goes all right maybe we can do it worldwide, I don't see much interest from /. people so far...
It's a lot of people/cities!
