Inside Look at Pixar HQ

LittleGuernica writes "Aintitcool's moriarty has taken a tour of Pixar's Headquarters in Emeryville, California and it just looks astounding. It instantly makes you wanna work there, or at least pimp up your cubicle... Which they don't have at Pixar, no they have cottages! Looks like Pixar created the optimal work condition for such a creative company, which leaves you no choice but to enjoy your job at Pixar every damn minute you work there."

As if we don't get enough Apple stories to keep Apple fanbois happy, here's another Steve Jobs story. /. should change its tagline to "News for Steve Jobs fanbois. Stuff no one else give a rats shit about"

BTW, do they use linux workstations there or SGI? Macs aren't great for animation.

Go ahead, mod me down....apple fags

Yet another story that will turn into nothing but a masterbation event for the Apple zealots. There will nothing technical, nothing with any facts and figures, just people licking the underneath of Steve's balls and telling us how there was a hint of a salty taste.

The insightful comment will be "Why to go Apple", yeah, real insightful.. Before you mod me off, take a real good look at the comments and the mods and see for yourself.

Well, look him up. In case you didn't know, there's this site called www.google.com that you can search for names and web sites etc etc.

You should check it out, it's pretty cool web site and I have a feeling it may be big one day...

I cannot understand how someone could ever love working for a corporate entity. Maybe it's just me, but my dealings with Corporate America these last several years has left a very sour taste in my mouth. It has also opened my eyes to a lot of opportunities that I never thought about exploring before. No one in a corporation matters to the corporation itself. People always believe the bonuses and raises are incentives for doing a great job, but it is really 'candy' to keep you working until you retire or are replaced.

It kind of reminds me of the rant the vicious killer on 'Con Air' says about who is really crazy - him or the poor slob who becomes a slave to life.

  7. What if you're a Leftist and you hate capitalism? by Loundry · · Score: -1, Troll

I'm not trying to troll. I genuinely am curious.

There are plenty of Leftists on Slashdot. My comments challenging and questioning socialism are routinely and viciously mocked while replies to the tune of, "You're obviously a Nazi," get modded "+5 Insightful" in a matter of microseconds.

And I'm sure lots of the Leftists here love the idea of working in a "creative" job that makes "cool" movies.

So what happens when an explosion of capitalism (Pixar) creates a job that a Leftist here would really like? Does this create some cognitive dissonance for you? If capitalism is nothing but a flawed system designed to enrich the ruling class at the expense of poor, working minorities, then how can it create such a wonderful work environment?

(And yes, if you're curious, sometimes phenomena in socialist countries create cognitive dissonance in me. It's okay, it's all good.)

I'm not interested in finding out about him, I just resent the fact that he's presented as some sort of idol when no-one has heard of him other than the person talking about him.

In other news, I met Xyxysxx Sdxyss the other day. Don't know who that is? Well look it up yourself you lazy fucker, have you never heard of google?
