Ico Sequel Info
Ico was one of the original innovative games for the Playstation 2, and the sequel is finally nearing its release date. Games.Kikizo.com (via Blues) has an interview, screenshots, and details on the upcoming title. From the article: "There's a young man on a horse, with a girl. You can see that she's unconscious, and this is because she has lost her soul. He takes her to a temple-like area that exists at World's End. He is trying to revive her and recover her soul. In order to do that, he has to defeat the Colossi."
I don't know about you guys, but I can't see whether or not people have souls, or have lost their souls. Did I miss the post of some righteous hack of some pair of goggles or something?
Here's a game that could definitely use the visual booster shot a next-gen console could offer.
I was recently reading about Ico and its creator in Power Up and then went out and was lucky enough to find a used copy is pretty good condition really cheap. I haven't finished Ico yet (too much time in Vana'diel), but I'm glad to hear that something new from the same creative team is coming out. Ico was/is one of the more creative titles to come out over the last several years. Unfortunately the really interesting titles don't always sell well upon release. But with all of same ol' games coming out over and over on the new consoles, I think many gamers are starving for and are now willing to try something different.
To the making of books there is no end, so let's get started
Ico was the reason I bought my PS2; I just had to give in to the impulse after reading the reviews which weren't mediocre as you remember (maybe the Frag-a-minute gang thought it sucked, but I don't read those type of reviews so I wouldn't know). Ico is still one of the best games for the PS2 IMO. I for one am looking forward eagerly to a sequel (as long as they don't turn it into an "action" game; any time I see that word as a description of a game now, I turn away and look elsewhere for my entertainment.)
