New Longhorn Screenshots And Schedule

Mozillabird writes "WinSupersite has recently updated the Longhorn release schedule and has provided some new screenshots of Aero. The first beta of Longhorn is May 2005, though there is some speculation about how much of Avalon and Aero will be implemented in that beta. The "big beta" is scheduled for this Fall."

What the fuck is wrong with you assholes? You rabid pro-lifers just can't let a woman die in peace as she herself requested. No, you have to turn it into a friggin media circus and a platform for your political and religious zealotry.

Assmuch. As opposed to being kept forcibly alive, tied to a bed with goddamn tubes going down my throat for the rest of my abortion of a life, starving to death would a picnic.

The only mistake she made was that she didn't sign a living will in time but relied on her husband instead. A living will would have shut up her moron parents and the pro-life religious jackasses a long time ago and we wouldn't be witnessing this tasteless circus. Or maybe not. It's more likely that the Bushes (Jeb and George) and the biblethumbing holier-than-thou zealots would have argued that a living will is against God's law and therefore invalid.

Her husband is a lying con man, who lied his way through court to get a lot of money to spend the rest of his life caring for his wife..who he loved so much...all the while having a mistriss and and as soon as he got the money he did an about face, went right back to court, and said she wanted to die and never wanted to live like this, and started fighting to have the courts kill her.

Well, I'm sure if the laws allowed it, she'd rather be given a death pill. That's when she's still alive, she's not capable of thought now, and such pills are not allowed, so letting her body stop functioning due to dehydration is just as good.

I personally can't wait to hear the news when she's finally dead, because that means she'll finally be in peace - as per her wish - and I can then laugh at the moronic pro-lifers.

You know I get kind of tired of hearing cop outs like this. "Don't lump us together" is more valid for things like "all black people are criminals" or "all short guys have a chip on their shoulder". Because the qualities of a black or short person really are all over the map. So "criminal" or "chip on shoulder" is an innacurate stereotype that applies to a very small percentage.

But crap like this? Nearly every Christian or right winger I know is for the government swooping in to "save this precious life" no matter how retarded and without logic it is. If you claim patronage to that group, then you deserve to be labelled with the actions and opinions of its general populous. If you don't like or disagree with it, maybe you should consider a different group before others consider defining you by all your stipulations.

I remember I used to listen to this late night AM radio talk show host who'd give advice on everything from stocks and bonds to etiquette. One night a guy called in and said "Hey, I shave my head, have lots of tatoos including a swastika on my forehead and demons on my arms, but I'm really a good person. I don't believe in killing jews or anything, I just like the symbols and having a shaved head. I wish people would see me for who I really am though, I get stereotyped." Well, the host obviously told him "You're living on the wrong planet." Get real. If you're going to be so closely affiliated with a group that almost-always do have certain characteristics (how many skinhead, swastika forehead, demon arm tatoo guys do you know are just really nice people helping old ladies across the street and working towards world peace?) then you deserve the negative connotations that come with it.

I thought not. Terri did not speak (in writing) when she could. The only person who is definitely asking for her to die is her husband.

I can not even guess what his motives are, possibly he DID have such conversations with Terri. But possibly not.

What this underscores is that, if you want to avoid Terri's fate you'll create the legally binding paperwork your state requires. In many states this requires two documents. 1) an Advance Medical Directive in which you state your wishes regarding such matters and 2) a Durable Power of Attorney which names the person(s) authorized to speak for you when you are unable to speak for yourself.

If Terri was a Jehovah's Witness, she would have properly executed copies of both of those documents in enough hands that no one could ever lie about her intentions. You don't have to be a JW to make these documents, it's just that we all have them.

As things now stand, her husband has the legal right to do what he is doing no matter what Terri might have actually said back when she was still able to express her own mind.
