New Spam-Scanning Technology Finds Spam

Anjonika writes "Eridani Star System claims they've got a new technology that'll allow them to find where the highest spam concentrations are on Earth." If the photos are any indication, they really are on the right track with this one.

    Looks awfully similar to that "Earth at Night" picture showing artificial human lights http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap001127.html

      No. You don't say?

      Are you suggesting that this could be a common garden satellite image based on visible-spectrum photons as opposed to a genuine map of bogon emissions?

      I would have never have even considered such an outlandish possibility. CmdrTaco would never be fooled by such a thing or wish to fool us, as he upholds such high standards of journalism and fact-checking especially on April Fool's Day.

      OK, Kids. Own up! Who modded the parent `insightful'?

      Read the article closely.. this is attempting to map where the _recipients_ are, not the senders.

      Unsurprisingly enough, it matches fairly well with the areas that I'd think to be more densely net-connected. Except Australia. Thought more of that one would be lit up, but then I don't know Australian geography all that well so maybe its true that there's only a handful of smallish areas along the coastline with high concentrations of net users.
