Squeak Group Buys Ship Naming Rights in Gaiman Novel

nadyne writes "Recently, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund ran an auction for the naming rights for a cruise ship in Neil Gaiman's upcoming novel Anansi Boys. Today, Neil Gaiman reported in a post to his blog that Markus Gaelli won this auction. According to Neil, Markus will use his hard-won auction to promote Squeak. He didn't tell us what the name of the cruise ship will be, but promised to do so in the future. Neil linked to Squeakland, although it's not clear whether Markus is associated with that site or Neil was just using it as a convenient starting point for his readers who might not know anything about Squeak."

Since the site is already Slashdotted, might we discuss some more important topics?

In particular, I'd like to bring your attention to the fact that the western civilization and culture of the western Europe is about to die. Why? Because of pathological insistence for diversity - or should I say die-versity - which seems to call for the acceptance of all the atrocities conducted by muslim immigrants. Honor killings, forced marriage, stoning and abuse of non-muslims and general oppression of the goodhearted citizens of our modern wellfare societies. The symptoms? Right now the Dutch are emigrating en masse because they've become strangers in their own land. Can you imagine that?! They're giving up their own country because they've been brainwashed that it's a more moral alternative than standing up to their foreign abusers?

In my mind, this is seriously disturbing development and should be fought against. Unfortunately, if you say that in public or to any member of the left, you'll be crucified as a racist. In Germany, you might end up in jail for speaking your mind.

Anyone on Slashdot who knows what I'm talking about?

      Yes.

There are Muslim lawyers in Canada who are trying to get Muslim Religious Law to be enacted by our goverenment -- that is, Muslims would live under one set of laws ("if they want" -- still not sure how that would work), and everyone else would live under normal goverenment laws.

I guess. It's a crack-addled idea, but the fact that it was being taken seriously in our country is fucking terrifying.

Here's hoping that the conservatives kick out the pussy liberals in our next election (which could be any time now, thank god).

How about you learn first how to spell before you flout your racist crap in public? People have a fundamental right to move and live anywhere they want. I, for one, am glad that the obsolete concept of borders and nation states is collapsing. To you it might seem as an armageddon, but to us (yes, I am a caucasian western European and there are plenty of people who think like I do) it's the end of a nationalist nightmare that has caused more suffering than all the religions put together.

If the muslims become a majority in my country and vote in a muslim party that establishes Islamic Law, I'm perfectly OK with that.
