Microsoft's Channel9 Adds Ink to Forums?

An anonymous reader asks: "Microsoft's Channel9 forums now support handwritten and hand-drawn comments. The ink comments are displayed as GIF images so anyone can see them, but to add your own message you must use IE and either a Tablet PC or have the Tablet PC SDK installed. Apparently Microsoft is going to make the source code available for the new feature so other sites can add ink support too. Will we be seeing more ink enabled forums in the future, or is Channel9's ink a novelty that will soon be forgotten?"

It's bad enough trying to read badly typed messages from people who can't spell. Trying to decipher their handwriting at the same time would be unbearable.

Don't blame me; I'm never given mod points.

Why must insensitive clods go the extra mile to circumvent the handwriting recognition software so I must not only decipher their "language" but their handwriting to boot?!

Apparently I am not in the target audience. And I'll probably not be in the target's audience for long either.

No, that's like saying having text comments will lead to constant knob jokes.
I think this is a great idea. How many times have you tried to explain something to someone in text when a simple diagram would be so much easier?
Examples could be a simple map or a carpentry joint, or an emoticon! :)
