More Freedom for DVD Players?

weopenlatest writes "According to this Wired article, the House just passed a bill allowing DVD players to skip through programming. While the article stressed using this ability for parental controls, it would seem like it would also apply to annoying previews and ads that load automatically. Could this be a step in the right direction towards uncrippled DVD players?"

Here in England, I have been on the forefront of the gay rights movement since the late 70's. Almost 30 years later, and HIV positive I wonder if it was worth it? All the shit on my bedsheets and my boxers...urinary tract infections...bleeding sphinctors...Its almost like I'm addicted to the asshole of some strange man even if he's just taken a shit and he didn't wipe very good. Sometimes when I'm in public, someone will fart and instead of becoming offended I become quite turned on and I usually have to go into a public retsroom somewhere and yank it real hard. I know what you're thinking, you're thinking, "How does this relate to marijuana?" Thats the beauty of it. I love to get stoned out of my mind and then let let four or five well hung guys ream my asshole as hard as they can while I toss a couple of other guys salads. I really think that everybody who smokes weed should try something like this as soon as possible.

Okay, I'm new to Slashdot and perhaps don't know the ins and outs yet. Still, I'm wounded and hurt. In the earlier thread on criminal penalties, I wrote what I thought was a thoughtful analysis of the other half of the bill (what's discussed in this thread): http://yro.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=146761&thr eshold=1&commentsort=0&tid=95&tid=17&mode=thread&c id=12295928 Yet there it sits with a measly score of 1, while dozens of chicken-little me-too posts are ranked much higher. What does it take? Blaring subject line? Waaah!
