Torvalds Unveils New Linux Control System

BlakeCaldwell writes "CNet reports: 'Linux founder and leader Linus Torvalds has launched a new tool, called Git, to manage his software project, after a dispute led him to drop the previous system.' He will start using Git instead of BitKeeper to control the flow of updates and track changes in the kernel." We've covered this previously. Relatedly, ChocLinux writes "Jeremy Allison, who wrote Samba with Andrew 'Tridge' Tridgell, is sticking up for his friend in the row over BitKeeper. "

I couldn't agree with you more!!

The way this thing went i realize wether or not Linus has any cash coming in from bitmover! I mean how else can one explain the fact that reverse engineering of BK gets linus up in arms against Tridge. Where was he when Samba was being developed??? Why is he accusing AND insulting the guy! if i were Tridge i would have filed a law suit!!!

Other software companies should stay away from providing support for Linux (and Linux), because all they will do is 'Open Source' your ideas and software design for you. This probably isnt good if you sell software for in order to support your family.
