Adobe Blasts Nikon's Closed File Format

Joe Decker writes "Thomas Knoll, creator of Adobe Photoshop, blasts Nikon's use of encryption to limit access to white-balance information contained in D2X RAW images files. Fearing the DMCA, Adobe won't reverse-engineer the file, slightly reducing Photoshop's support for those files. Nikon responds. Is Adobe whining? Is Nikon shooting itself in the foot?" But that's communist open sores software! My company won't touch that crap with a ten foot pole because we love America and crony capitalism.

  3. you didn't read the camera's EULA, did you? by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Troll

    From the Nikon camera EULA:

"All photographs taken with this equipment shall remain the property of Nikon, Inc."

You *may* have some limited rights to use the photographs you take, but make no mistake: ALL YOUR PHOTOS BELONG TO NIKON!
