Game Developers Conference TV Launches

A new site from CMP has begun posting video feeds from this year's Game Developers Conference. Right now they are featuring Peter Molyneux's Gameplay in the 21st Century talk from the design track. Upcoming videos may include sessions like Will Wright's Spore talk and Keita Takahashi's discussion of Katamari Damacy. From the site: "If you are an attendee, GDCTV is your answer to missing a key session while you were at the conference. If you weren't able to attend the conference or want to learn more about the event, GDCTV gives you excellent insight into the quality and breadth of content that GDC provides." A free registration is required to view the videos.

I just watched all of Molyneux's presentation, it was a fairly interesting showcase of upcoming games like "The Movies" and "Black and White 2". Though if you don't feel like watching the entire thing (it runs over an hour) I recommend skipping straight to "The Room". Basically it was a tech demo of rendering a small area in incredible detail, and it had showed off the use of "portals", something 3d Realms' Prey had tried to do years ago and (I think) abandoned.

Molyneux said "The Room" wouldn't be released as a game but it's said to be incorporated into something called "Project Dimitri".
