n00b_newbie writes "Nationwide, Free Comic Book Day 2005 is this Saturday. This years lineup includes some regulars like Batman, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, some comics for kids, and some indy comics. FBCD's website has some cover pics, and a store locator. The indy comics include Flight (gorgeous!), Owly (kids), Bone Sharps, Cowboys, and Thunder Lizards and a bunch of others."

$10 says that if I submit a story to /. about a "nationwide" event held in luxembourg, it wouldn't get accepted. It's just a matter of nationalism and americans being taught that they are the best in the world. I'm not trying to be a troll here; the British have always been taught the same thing, the Germans went through it, the French, etc...it's not BAD exactly, as much as it is a comment of the times.

I live in Canada and get this sort of thing all the time. One gets used to it after a while.

I refuse to purchase new comics because they have such a communist/socialist/anti capitalist agenda that it actually sickens me to read them. I know people who are/have cancelled subscriptions because of this very problem.

When Thor wants to be worshiped as a GOD and ridicules anyone who worship other Gods(it was obviously Roman Catholic because of the priests) because "what have they ever done for you, I am right here", then you know the old "Good vs Evil" days of comics are gone, as so is my money.

And they wonder why comics are dying - morons.
