Google DNS Glitch Caused Outage

An anonymous reader writes "Google suffered a pretty long outage saturday evening, due to some DNS glitches, according to company spokesperson. All Google services were down for a while, including Gmail and Google AdSense. There seems to be a DNS hijack, as some screen grabs show that Google.com was redirecting to another site, SoGoSearch.com. "

The Fedora Core Blog gives a review of the features we can expect from Firefox 1.1. Many uses have been running the latest trunk builds and seeing dramatic improvements in page rendering, managing many tabs quickly, and the much-anticipated fix for the /. layout bug. From the article: 'One major new feature in Firefox 1.1 is the "Sanitize" feature. This enables secure browsing with much more ease. Select the "Sanitize" option in the preferences and Firefox will scrub your profile of sensitive information (which you select in the preferences).'"

    Therefore Google sucks ass.

    How very christian-like of you.
I'm sure all of your customers applaud your methods; and will flock to your business upon hearing that you're harassing children.

If you're living this close to a month-by-month that you're personally hurting because of a sudden change in your business profits, perhaps your business was not quite as successful as you thought (for 12 years) and you should've been looking into other ways to make money.

If this is not a sudden change, then perhaps it would've been prudent to come up with another source of income, or way to make a direct change to YOUR store many years ago.

You're welcome to propose ideas such as this, but don't fool yourself into thinking you'll see a change tomorrow. You'll be on the street for many years before we start the sex offender equivilant of a Copyright Offenders List (Especially considering copyright law is CIVIL and not CRIMINAL)

CD sales are up. You're just selling the wrong stuff. Religion is collapsing and you're concentrating on christian rock - is it really any suprise?

Your blacklist idea is flawed in several critical ways - the major one is you want to stop your customers buying music. Everyone breaks the laws in some way simply because even doing something like copying the cd onto tape to listen to in your car is "piracy". Add them to the black list. Friends come over and listen to the cd when you play it on your machine? Add you and your friends who heard it to the black list too. Tape a show off of TV? black list. Record something off of the radio? blacklist. Buy a second hand cd. Blacklist. Copy your new cd to cdr so you dont damage the original? Blacklist. Try to play the cd in your computer at all? blacklist. How many people are going to shop in stores where you are asked for ID on the way in? Who is going to pay for the system? Who is going to pay to access the system?

    Good idea idiot.

I think the kids in my old Health book talked like this.

"Dude, I'm going to smoke the drugs right away."

"Yeah, dude, that's groovy. You'll achieve a higher social status among our peers."
