Dell Founder Dropped $100M Onto Red Hat

diegocgteleline.es writes "Via google news, I found a article at MSNBC claiming that Michael Dell, Dell's founder and chairman, has droped $100M into Red Hat (Michael himself, not his company). Analyists say that "Dell - neither the person nor the company - is interested in acquiring Red Hat", but one wonders what's behind of this move. A fight against their competence in the server market?"

    MOD up: I am not a troll, perhaps a bit off topic, but this is good news.

    Seems the owner of the whiteboxlinux.net and whiteboxlinux.com domains has decided to offer them on ebay as a peace offering between wbel and himself.

    This is really great news so lets hope someone with WBEL enthusiasm steps up to build a respectable community site.

    I'm sure Dell don't care about your one or two little PC purchases ... most retail customers don't even know or care about AMD vs. Intel, and as for big corporate clients they're making plenty of money in big deals on Intel-based systems. If you wanted to purchase 10,000 desktops and insisted on AMD, maybe they'd sit up and take notice.
