Dell Founder Dropped $100M Onto Red Hat
diegocgteleline.es writes "Via google news, I found a article at MSNBC claiming that Michael Dell, Dell's founder and chairman, has droped $100M into Red Hat (Michael himself, not his company). Analyists say that "Dell - neither the person nor the company - is interested in acquiring Red Hat", but one wonders what's behind of this move. A fight against their competence in the server market?"
Yay linex, boo windowes!
The submitter can be forgiven, but what's Hemos' excuse? I guess the editors can't be bothered to actually edit anything.
Seems the owner of the whiteboxlinux.net and whiteboxlinux.com domains has decided to offer them on ebay as a peace offering between wbel and himself.
This is really great news so lets hope someone with WBEL enthusiasm steps up to build a respectable community site.
I'm sure Dell don't care about your one or two little PC purchases ... most retail customers don't even know or care about AMD vs. Intel, and as for big corporate clients they're making plenty of money in big deals on Intel-based systems. If you wanted to purchase 10,000 desktops and insisted on AMD, maybe they'd sit up and take notice.
My father in law told me this on Saturday.
Onto? Into?
English is not that hard, people...
They might fight their "competitors", but not their "competence".
;-)
Yes, that submission certainly had an incompetent wording!
By the way... Analysists? droped? Spellcheck!
:P
Oh, please....they clearly misspelled it Analyists
you plonker he already is!
Remember, mod UP or don't mod at all. (Unless it's an obvious troll, that is.
Nope. You've earned an overrated mod now. I love abusing this system.
Perhaps Mr Dell has a passion for OS's.
When asked what he thought of Linux, Dell Boy replied, "Lovely Jubbly!"
