Firefox Growth Slowing?

ninja_assault_kitten writes "Silicon.com has an interesting article on the apparently slowing growth of Firefox. To quote the article, 'The slackening of Firefox's growth could mean that the browser has converted a substantial proportion of its natural constituency, thought to be early adopters and the technically savvy. It could also show that the browser's widely publicised security flaws have begun to undermine the foundation's argument that people should switch from IE to be safer.' One thing's for sure, with the release of 1.0.3 and now 1.0.4 we can probably expect to breach the 80 million download mark shortly."

Well, that's one way to do it - if you keep releasing security fixes, you drive the download count up. ;-)

Oh man are you living in a dream world.

Let's say that you have a ROTH IRA with Fidelity and you couldn't use FireFox to view the site. Do you really think that Fidelity is going to give a shit if you can't use it but the other 10 million customers can?

Yeah you can make the argument, "But if enough people complain", and guess what, most of the people will use FireFox, see that it doesn't work and go right back to IE.

Keep fucking dreaming kids, it's what keeps us going.

Steals? It's LGPL, dumbass. Apple fulfills their end of the bargain by making their source available and contributing patches to the KHTML team. Whether those patches are useful to KHTML isn't Apple's problem. Deal with it, asswipe.

Word-of-mouth advertising kicks the shit out of, six ways from Sunday, regular, invade-your-space advertising.

This from an Apple-buyer. What about just buying what is good and not what is advertised?

You know, like a powerful and fast PC instead of some obsolete, overpriced Mac?

I assume you feel Apple's advertising (like in Blade III where the dwarf-cunt shows off her iPod) to be very "k3wl" (as you Apple-bois would say).
