Incorrect. 1KHz = 1024Hz, and 1MHz = 1048,576Hz. 1GHz however means 1000 x 1048,576Hz = 10,485,76000 Hz
Its been this way ever since I think it was Intel who changed over to using some decimal numbers for GHz when they saw it wasn't making sense to keep going with the old binary system all the way. It still makes their processors seem faster than they are.
